Dear fellow CoA-enthusiasts
We would like to extend a warm invitation to you to join us for StellenCoA 2018, the next meeting on Coenzyme A in Health, Disease and Bioscience. We are extremely excited to host this conference for the first time on African soil, in the university town of Stellenbosch, South Africa from 28 October to 1 November 2018.
We are also delighted to have the support of a local scientific society, the South African Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (SASBMB), and to be able to present this as the first ever SASBMB Focused Meeting.
The meeting in Stellenbosch follows on two previous very successful meetings held in London and Marseille in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Those meetings had a very strong focus on questions related to CoA biosynthesis – a field in which our community are still making some very exciting discoveries.
For the gathering in Stellenbosch we have also reached out to several researchers with interests in the multitude ways that CoA and its esters impact on cellular biology and a wide range of diseases, including cancer, neurodegeneration and microbial infections. We are hoping that StellenCoA 2018 – apart from providing an exceptionally scenic backdrop – will also allow for fruitful interactions between these different groups, and make a significant contribution to our understanding of this central cofactor’s role in health, disease and bioscience.
Please use the social media links above to spread the word to your colleagues, collaborators and all other interested parties; using the #StellenCoA2018 hashtag. We are looking forward to welcoming you to Stellenbosch and South Africa!
